Young Black n Deadly

Young Black n Deadly2

Young, Black & Deadly (YB&D) is an aspirational program for our youth interested in self-expression through media, performance and other creatives arts.

Utilising the Koori Radio Outside Broadcast (OB) van, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students aged from 14 to 18 years learn the elements of radio broadcasting for one day a week over a six week period. On demonstrating their proficiency, they receive a Creative Media Industries Certificate II.

Because of this and the personal development students Young Black n Deadlyreceive, public schools are eager participants in the program, though there are many more requests for the workshops funding allows.

YB&D is also committed to developing the skills and confidence of our aspiring performers through one-day weekend workshops and the Culture Camp held during the January school holidays in the lead up to Yabun.
