The Scandinavian Festival Brisbane was first conceived in in 2012 when the Danish club Brisbane decided to take a new approach to celebrate their 140thanniversary than the usual “black tie dinner”. Led by the Danish club’s President, Soren Hoimark and his wife, Lone Schmidt, the Scandinavian Festival was born.
This year marks the fourth year of the festival which is fast becoming a must-do event on Brisbane’s festival calendar. This not-for-profit festival offers a unique opportunity to enjoy the many aspects of Scandinavian culture and consistently attracts crowds of close to 10, 000 visitors.
The Scandinavian festival is a family friendly event and the kids will definitely be catered for. There will be a Lego playroom, a demo track for electrical push-bikes, a creative space where kids can find their creative groove, a safe toy area, Viking painting studio, story telling, and more. Visitors will also get the chance to participate in the yearly raffle with over 50 prizes to be won.
