Through a network of 16 Hospital and Health Services, as well as the Mater Hospitals, Queensland Health delivers a range of integrated services including hospital inpatient, outpatient and emergency services, community and mental health services, aged care services and public health and health promotion programs.
Queensland Health works with the Australian Department of Health and Ageing (DOHA) to deliver quality health services to Queenslanders. DOHA’s responsibilities cover general practitioners, Medicare, immunisation, aged care, implementation of the National Health and Hospitals Network, private health insurance, pharmaceutical benefits scheme (PBS), mental health, after hours GP helpline, and a range of other initiatives.
