National Museum of Australia

National Museum of Australia2The National Museum of Australia is a social history museum. We explore the land, nation and people of Australia. We focus on Indigenous histories and cultures, histories of European settlement and our interaction with the environment.

Opened in 2001, the National Museum building is an architectural landmark. Inspired by the idea of a jigsaw puzzle, it reflects the many intertwined stories that make up Australia’s history.
