Our region borders Ipswich to the east and Toowoomba to the west. Our major townships include Laidley, Gatton, Withcott & Plainland.

The Lockyer Valley region is ideally situated being less than a one hour’s drive from inner city Brisbane. It straddles the Warrego Highway and covers an area of approximately 2,200 Lockyer Valley Regional Council3sq kms. The population is growing quickly and there are currently around 35,000 residents.

Lockyer Valley Regional Council has a strong set of values that remind us of what is important as an organisation. As a local government authority, we are committed to providing quality services to residents and visitors in the pursuit of our vision for the region. ​
